My name is Maria Barreiro. I have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful daughters. My oldest is a senior in high school and my youngest is in sixth grade. I am a graduate of Nova Southeastern University having earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education with ESOL endorsement. I have been working at Flamingo Elementary School since 2002. After teaching first grade for 4 years, I decided to try moving on to second grade. What an amazing year it was! I had so much FUN! It was sad at the end of last school year to let MY students go on without me, but I am looking forward to this year and working with my new class! I am an extremely dedicated teacher who cares for the academic future of all my students. My door is always open to my students and their parents. I am always willing to go the extra mile for my students and provide them with the best learning experience possible. Together we are going to have an exciting and educational year!
